Common questions
Do I need the Smart Meter to use a plug-in battery?
No. Without it the battery runs on a timetable — charging in your cheap-rate window and running appliances plugged into it at peak times. The Smart Meter is an optional upgrade that lets it run appliances plugged into the battery first and store spare solar.
What does the professional install include?
A technical survey, hardwiring to your consumer unit by an MCS-certified installer (Fresh Solar, England only), subject to survey, the smart meter, electrical certification and notifying your network operator (DNO) where required.
Can every battery be professionally installed?
Not every model. The product page only shows the Installed option where it is available for that battery, and every install is subject to survey.
Can I switch from plug-in to installed later?
Get in touch and we will check whether your battery and home qualify before quoting.
